As part of East Coast Startup Week, the Saint John Community Loan Fund in partnership with Sustainable Saint John organized a B Corp Panel Discussion with four local entrepreneurs at ConnexionWorks, Saint John. More than 45 people attended the event demonstrating the increasing demand for socially conscious businesses.
B Corp stands for beneficial corporation. It’s a new type of corporation that uses the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. So, it’s not about being the best business in the world, it’s about being the best business for the world.
Anyone can fill out the assessment for free on website. For more information: https://www.bcorporation.net/
The panellists were a great mix of different businesses. Three out of the four panellists have their certifications, one of them very recently, and one is going through the process.
Panellists from left to right:
-Owen Green, Adams Green Accounting Firm
-Jon Robertson, Hemmings House Pictures
-Jeff Roach, Sociallogical
-Mary-Eileen O’Brien, Carleton Law Group
Facilitated by our Programs Officer, Christina Allain
The Loan Fund and Sustainable Saint John thank the panellists for their time.
