Youth Entrepreneurship Success (YES) / Hatching Dragons
For the past 7 years the Saint John Community Loan Fund has been working with youth between the ages of 12-15 in Saint John to learn about business while building one. We’ve seen chocolates, bottle recycling, T-shirts, herbs, and different events. We have two programs; one which runs once a day during the summer with partners like the YMCA, the Multicultural and Newcomer Resource Centre, and the Boys and Girls Club. The second program is a full week camp in partnership with the YMCA at the Carpenter Centre.
As the Coordinator of this Program, you will reach out to our partners, set formal schedules and facilitate the programming with youth. We will provide our program materials, a laptop, and a chair when you need it, contacts, support and freedom to add value to the programming! We will pay you $13.00 per hour, 35 hours per week, for 10 weeks, starting June 20, 2016. We do have some flex with start time and finish time!
You are entrepreneurial, can work solo, and have no problem speaking up. You enjoy working with youth and you want to make a difference in your community. You understand business, maybe because you are studying business in school, you’ve started a business, or you’ve worked in one. You have experience developing ideas and planning programs. You are a wiz with social media. Having a car would help but not entirely necessary.
The Saint John Community Loan Fund
The Saint John Community Loan Fund wants to change the world. We do it locally. We began in 1999 helping people create income, build assets and attain greater self reliance. Today we do this through training, loans, savings and housing. To view more of what we do, please go to www.loanfund.ca or our Facebook site.
You must have a SEED Voucher to be accepted in the position. Please send your resume, cover letter and SEED Voucher to Christina Allain at firstname.lastname@example.org by June 19, 2016. We appreciate all who take the time to apply but we will be contacting only those who are invited to an interview.
